The Tamil Nadu government announced that IT parks would be set up in Coimbatore, Tiruchy, Madurai, Salem, Hosur and Tirunelveli.

The first second tier city to be developed is Coimbatore with one million square feet of office space. This move is done in order to reduce the congestion and to reduce infrastructure problems in the Tier I city such as Chennai.

This move is definite to bring in a fresh set of talented individuals to Coimbatore and is a welcome move.
